The good old days where you could have explained that to the banker and still got a loan are long gone thanks to the new banking regulations. I think it would be hard to go anywhere and get loan like that with a credit score in the mid 600's. He bought a used truck for $10K and the dealership ran it thru 5 financing companies in one day for the best rate and it screwed his credit score to mid 600's.
